About BOCR

Bridge of Christian Relief is a UK registered charity (1018263) which has been operating since 1991. It's aim is to rescue and support orphaned children in countries such as Romania and Thailand. Over the past 11 years, with sheer hard work, prayer, and determination, Bridge of Christian Relief has saved the lives of many children who would have otherwise suffered immensely, or even died. Some of the children BOCR take care of had previously been sent into prostitution (unknowingly) in Northern Thailand. Your donations help us to continue saving lives. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/1705875.stm for a typical story like so many BOCR has come across.

Tom and Jean Payne began God's work back in 1989 when Tom received a remarkable vision from God, calling him to the children of Thailand and Romania. Tom was made redundant just before his retirement in 1990. And with his redundancy money, he bought a van and set off to Romania to help the orphaned children. To this day, Tom and his wife Jean are still involved in supporting the cause.

Prior to this, Tom and Jean had already been to Thailand to see for themselves, the situation of children who are sold to pimps for prostitution in the brothels of Northern Thailand. Usually to fund the drug habits of some of the parents.

Tom and Jean spoke on BBC Radio Leeds programme, "Faith Story," several years ago. Their story is one that I would recommend reading, as you will be amazed, but also shocked at what they have to say. The full interview will soon be made available as a series of pages, which will be added to this Website in the spring of 2006.

Urgent Appeal !!

Great things have happened, and a great deal of effort has been put in. However, money is always a major factor which can't be ignored. At present, we have 2 houses in Romania and 1 house in Thailand where rescued children live and are supported. These houses are being threatened with closure because our main sponsor, regrettably, is unable to continue financial support.

We are therefore urgently seeking new sponsors from large or small companies as well as individuals.

If you are able to help in any way, however small, please click on the, "donations" link to the left for further details.

All donations large or small are greatly appreciated and always acknowledged.
