Since February, 2009, Bridge of Christian Relief has become a ministry of International Teams, a UK registered charity —1089864—. Bridge of Christian Relief was established in 1991 with the aim is to rescue and support orphaned children in countries such as Romania and Thailand. Over the past 11 years, with sheer hard work, prayer, and determination, Bridge of Christian Relief has saved the lives of many children who would have otherwise suffered immensely, or even died. Some of the children BOCR take care of had previously been sent into prostitution—unknowingly—in Northern Thailand. Your donations help us to continue saving lives. See this BBC News Item for a typical story like so many BOCR has come across.
Tom and Jean Payne began God's work back in 1989 when Tom received a remarkable vision from God, calling him to the children of Thailand and Romania. Tom was made redundant just before his retirement in 1990. And with his redundancy money, he bought a van and set off to Romania to help the orphaned children. To this day, Tom and his wife Jean are still involved in supporting the cause.
Prior to this, Tom and Jean had already been to Thailand to see for themselves, the situation of children who are sold to pimps for prostitution in the brothels of Northern Thailand. Usually to fund the drug habits of some of the parents.
Tom and Jean spoke on BBC Radio Leeds programme, "Faith Story," several years ago. Their story is one that I would recommend reading, as you will be amazed, but also shocked at what they have to say.
Due to poor health, Tom realised that he needed help to continue the invaluable support for the home in Romania and approached International Teams to assist. International Teams currently has 200 teams around the world with around 1200 mission workers reaching out to the lost and hurting
International Teams invites you to become a regular supporter to partner in the work in Romania and Thailand. Please go to the Donations Page to find out how to help.
